Shearing the Alpacas!
Once a year, we shear the fleece off the alpacas in a process that doesn't harm them. In fact, they are really glad in the heat of the summer to be free of their heavy coats. The fleece is the softest imaginable. Everyone is always startled the first time to feel how extraordinarily soft alpaca fleece feels.
Here are some photos of alpaca shearing at the farm.
